We organize an International Online Networking Conference “The Baltic Sea - a sea of peace, not a NATO sea” on June 14, 2025 from 2pm to 6pm. Peace activists and experts from all Baltic Sea states, who are committed to opposing the further militarization of our sea, its coasts, ports and shipyards are invited to participate and contact us.
With this international conference, the Peace Alliance Northern Germany would like to promote the exchange between peace organizations, learn more about the country-specific peace movements and plan possible actions in the Baltic Sea region. The historical and geopolitical context of the militarization of our Baltic Sea, the eastward expansion of NATO (Sweden/Finland) and the preparations for war taking place there will also be discussed. Historical examples of successful peace efforts (e.g. CSCE Helsinki 1975) will be recalled and proposals for an effective security and peace architecture in the Baltic Sea region (or North Sea/Arctic) and in Europe will be discussed.
